Filming ain't easy

People think it's pretty cool to do filming and stuff, handling the equipment and all. I wouldn't deny that, but the process of filming isn't easy, really. It's rather arduous actually. The equipments are super heavy! And my group is an all-girls group so yeah. It's not like all of us have the strength to carry heavy items.

You also have to take care of every minor detail and making sure that everything goes smoothly during the filming process. Nobody likes a re-shoot because it troubles both parties. And when your film requires the use of talents/actors, you need to spend time looking for them. And if they can't deliver their lines well, you will just see your time slowly ticking by. It's a good thing 'hiring' people you know though and in this case, we 'hired' Nava's cousin and mum.

The whole filming process made my group spend the whole weekend on it! But that's not all, after the filming, comes the editing part. I hope that will go well and may the end product be a really awesome one.

Time for some photos taken while filming last Sunday.

Setting up the lights. They are really hot! You need to wear gloves to touch them. The temperature heats up as high as 90 degree Celsius which is almost the temperature of boiling water already!
Lighting up the talent's face using the reflector. Eileen seems really happy in the above picture hahaha.
Group shot!

The school holiday this time seems to pass pretty fast! Down to the last week already and I haven't started on any of my Broadcast Performance journals or completed my radio commercial for audio production.

There are so many things I want and need to do, but so little time.
Enjoy the last week of the holidays, fellow TP friends.

Love, Yi Ting

  1. Whoa that's pretty cool! I did a group project which only utilized one video camera and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, and that took AGES and a lot of bloopers from our protagonist. Hope your filming turned out well!
