New Crocs New You: Fashion Show & My first pair of Crocs!

Thanks to OMY.sg and Crocs Singapore, I was invited to attend the Crocs Fashion Show at VivoCity and to be a part of the New Crocs New You campaign.

Say Crocs and I am sure most of you would think of the infamous 'holey' pair of shoes. I say infamous because some people love it while others loathe it. Crocs has always been known to offer quality, comfy shoes and one would usually not associate them with style. But their latest collection proves otherwise; you can have both style and comfort in one pair of Crocs shoes.

And now, instead of launching into a tirade of words, I think it's best to let the pictures do the talking. :)

*FYI, this is going to be a picture-heavy post.*

Upon reaching, I was given my goodie bag. I was playing around with the colour tone of the photos and I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I posted both, pardon me.

Us, the bloggers, catching up while waiting to head towards the Amphitheatre for the fashion show.

This was the view that Jacqualine, Darren and I thought we would have. But alas, no, we had to shift and..
Photobucket
We ended up with this view instead. Ah well but it wasn't too bad, I suppose. So while waiting for the show to start, we decided to take a few shots.

I am no professional photographer so I apologise if the photos weren't really well-taken. It was really hard to attempt taking their whole outfit including the shoes when heads occasionally bob into the frame of my camera and all. So here are a few press images:

I really do like this pair of wedges but I think they are only available at MBS. So I didn't get to see them in person and up close. :(

Today, I finally had the time to head down to a Crocs store to redeem my pair of Crocs shoes. Due to time constraints, I went to the branch at Plaza Singapura. But they didn't have my size for the designs I wanted so I headed towards the branch at Marina Square instead.

Me trying on the deck shoe in Cocoa.

What do you think?
Photobucket
There's something wrong about the angle of this shot - it makes me look ridiculously skinny at the waist which is quite a scary sight to behold actually, and the top of my head reminds me of Megamind. Hmmm.
Photobucket
Trying on another pair. I really do adore the colour and the cut, it makes this pair look very dainty but the sizes don't fit me right.  :( So that leaves me with the deck shoes which is a good thing actually cos I really couldn't decide which one I prefer. If my feet didn't help make the decision for me, I think I will be stuck in the store for a very long time.
Photobucket
Then, I noticed the other colour of the deck shoe - expresso (a much darker brown)
Photobucket
Once again, I couldn't decide which one to get. I like Cocoa but I already have quite a few shoes in that shade of brown.

In the end, I decided to get Cocoa cos I think this colour would be able to match most of my outfits more easily than the other colour.

I wore them (home) immediately. It's super comfy! My retail store experience instilled in me the importance of getting comfy shoes. I used to buy shoes solely based on the design. Comfort just didn't come to mind because I never had an issue with that. So, if the design is to my liking, I will get it. Simple as that, no other considerations. But, after working at a retail store and standing long hours in a non-comfy pair of shoes (it didn't have any sole cushions or anything similar), I realised the importance of buying quality, comfy shoes. You really pay for what you get. After all, you walk everywhere with shoes. If it isn't comfy or if it gives you problems, you are gonna have problems walking around. And that is not an experience anyone would fancy.

Now I don't know if it wasn't available in the store or if I missed this pair out but, it's gorgeous! (the colour) If I had seen this, I might have gotten this instead. Heels (or shoes), us girls can never have enough of them. And you really do need a comfy pair of heels.

Anyhow, moving on. I have something rad to share with you. Crocs is giving you the chance to win a makeover from head to toe. If you are finalist, you will be awarded with $6,000 worth of shopping spree vouchers with a professional stylish! And if you are the winner? You (and a guest) will receive round trip tickets and accommodation in a city of your choice. How awesome is that! And that's not all, you will also be sent on a shopping spree with a renowned beauty and style expert. They will then whisk you away to a salon where you will receive a makeover.

What you have to do, is very simple:

1. Head down to the New Crocs New You website
2. In less than 50 words, tell them why you deserve to win this ultimate makeover
3. If you are chosen as a finalist, share your story with your friends and get them to vote for you!

Aside from taking part in the makeover contest, you can also download the Crocs Mix & Match mobile app. This app allows you to snap a picture of your outfit, choose the focus colours and then it will match the best pair of Crocs shoes to coordinate what you are wearing. If you want to try them on, sure! You can try them on virtually by pointing your phone at your feet. Like what you see? Simply purchase them through the application on the Crocs webstore.

iPhone users can download it here.
Android users can download it here.

So who says you can't have both style and comfort in one pair of shoes? With Crocs, there's no need to compromise on any one. Because with Crocs, you can walk in comfort and wear it style!
