E'spuma Lab // Premium Quality Dishes at Pocket Friendly Prices [Media Tasting]

I was invited to E'spuma Lab for a food tasting and boy am I glad I went down for the event. Most Singaporeans are foodies, we love and appreciate good quality food. However, they may not always be pocket friendly. And this is especially so for students. The Managing Director of E'spuma Lab at POMO believes that good food should be enjoyed by everyone at affordable prices, a point that I absolutely concur with! And this is what E'spuma Lab is all about.

Espuma, if you were wondering, is spanish or foam or froth, a culinary technique in which an espuma siphon is used to infuse air into food, creating an airily light mouth feel. This adds an interesting new dimension to the texture of natural ingredients that have been pureed, mashed or juiced.

This is the Smoked Salmon Sous Vide Eggs (Topped with Crispy Salmon Skin and Ginger Soyu), a definite must try!!

Sous vide eggs, you ask?

Sous vide is a clinary technique in which food is cooked in a vacuum at a constant temperature, using a thermal circulator. This technique helps ensure perfectly cooked eggs without the use of an egg timer. It also makes sure meat remains tender throughout.

And I think it's no secret I LOVE eggs hahaha. And smoked salmon??? Plus the crispy salmon skin!!! Need I say more? This dish was amazing, made even more perfect by the perfect runny texture of the eggs.

The next dish is the E'spuma Potato Foam and I chose the one with sautéed mushrooms because I can't take beef. A pity cos I love rendang, if only it came in chicken form.

The texture was most interesting, and in a good way! You have to go try it for yourself. And the mushrooms were really good too, complemented the potato foam really well.

And here's the beef rendang one, which was polished off really quickly by the lady who shared a table with me hahaha. She was also all praises for it so I reckon I can safely say - this is also a thumbs up.

I chose the Fragrant Rice served with Cajun Chicken Leg and E'spuma Curry Sauce and this dish was no disappointment either! The rice is fragrant indeed! Hahaha. And of good texture, I love it!

I also requested to try the Ice Blended Mango Blaster, the only thing that stood out from their selection of available beverages. The rest were pretty standard like your Ice Lemon Tea, Coffees, etc. This however, wasn't too good. It was a little too sweet. Texture however, was lovely.

Then they rounded up the food tasting with their signature E'spuma Batter D24 Durian Fritters. I didn't try this however, because I don't take durian so ya haha.

Instead, I had the spiced calamari which at first glance, looked more like chicken fritters instead of the usual round shape it comes in haha. This was okay.

So in conclusion, I'd really recommend you give E'spuma Lab a try, especially the sous vide eggs and their main courses. You won't regret it trust me. And if you are a durian lover, go ahead and try the durian fritters as well.

Plus, do you know that dishes prepared using the espuma and sous vide techniques are usually only found at premium restaurants with a expensive price tag? Now you can finally taste how such dishes will taste like and at a super affordable price tag!
