Laneige Perfect Renew Travel Set [Sponsored Review] x Dreaming of a Bali Getaway

During my last trip to Seoul (editing my seoul vlogs right now!), I spent a good $600 plus on Korean skincare and beauty products hahaha. And well, Laneige products chalked up more than half of that amount because I stocked up on my favourite Laneige BB cushions and sleeping packs heh heh. Also discovered several other really good brands/products! But those reviews are for another time. :)

Luxola recently sent me the Laneige Perfect Renew Travel Set, and in good time too! I'll be travelling to Vietnam next week so this travel set is just perfect to bring along. I've not yet tried Laneige's Perfect Renew range so I was really quite excited to try it out as I've heard good things about this range, especially the Skin Refiner.

Psssst! Luxola is offering my you a 15% discount off all first time orders! Just key in BLX-SHANICE and you're good to go! This code is only valid for a month so don't miss out! Also, do note that this offer isn't applicable for non-discountable brands which you can find here.

Laneige Multi Cleanser

As its name suggests, it's a multi-cleanser that boasts 4 functions - removes makeup, removes sunscreen, exfoliates and cleanses. This cleanser is also papain enzymes based; papain enzymes are found in unripe papayas and papayas have been used for skincare by many around the world because its packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It's also known to be an effective way of cleansing and rejuvenating dull, tired-looking skin.

If you have dry skin however, you may find this cleanser a little too drying for your skin. It does leave skin feeling a little more taut, although to give it credit, it also serves to remove makeup which may explain it's drier formula. It can be fixed with a good moisturiser anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. My skin feels really squeaky clean after using this! Like all the grime and dust from the day, and any makeup residue have all been removed without a trace.

Laneige Perfect Renew Skin Refiner

If you were wondering "where's the toner?", well this Skin Refiner is the toner for the Perfect Renew range. The consistency of this however is unlike regular toners, it has a more gel-like consistency, which help to penetrate into skin giving it more moisture and tension, refining the texture of the skin. It also contains Ceremaid repair water that fills up between dead cells and addresses any dryness, which results in the aging of the skin.

I really like this! My skin absorbs this really well, leaving it feeling more moisturised and bouncy. I can see a slight improvement to my skin's texture. My t-zone produces less oil and my skin also looks less dull although I need to use it for a longer period to be really sure. But it seems to be working great for my skin so far!

Laneige Perfect Renew Emulsion

Emulsions are like moisturisers which not only gives your skin moisture but also helps to balance the moisture level in your skin. This helps to make sure your skin does not overproduce or underproduce oil, which would result in oily or dry skin.

My thoughts on the effectiveness of this emulsion are quite similar to the Skin Refiner! It absorbs really well and my skin feels very nicely moisturised and well balanced after.

Laneige Perfect Renew Essence

Essences are the lighter versions of serums, both are meant to target specific skin concerns because it contains a higher concentration of ingredients. And this essence serves to prevent premature aging, it even boasts a face contour firming effect.

Well I can't comment much on the face contour firming effect because I'm still relatively young haha. So to me, this works as a "prevention is better than cure", to maintain my skin as it is right now as I age. Like its siblings in this range, it absorbs well, doesn't feel heavy on the skin and I think it does my skin look a little more glowy.

Laneige Perfect Renew Cream
If you have drier skin, it's essential to finish up your skincare routine with a good cream to seal in everything you've applied on so far, because your skin would need more moisture. For those with combination/oily skin, a cream may be a bit too heavy for day use. I have combination skin, so I usually end my skincare routine with a moisturiser gel (like the Nature Republic Aloe Vera gel) to seal in everything I've applied. I use creams at night.

This cream enhances elasticity and the moisture barrier of your skin, which helps to repair your skin. I sleep in an air-conditioned room, so a good night cream is really important to make sure my skin is well moisturised throughout the night.

This is one of the outfits I'll be wearing in Vietnam, lots of airy tank tops with my favourite wardrobe staple - boho pants. Outfits like this also make me think of a beach getaway. I've been hearing so much about Bali, the last time I was there was when I was 5? Hahaha. My colleague just came back from Bali (he went there to surf) while another friend of mine went there for the cafes, and my good friend, Fiona, is there right now. Plus, the many articles on Bali going around on Facebook doesn't help to curb this wanderlust.

I have the habit of searching and bookmarking accommodations of destinations I will visit eventually. And Bali is one of them. Here are some of the gems I found on TheLuxeNomad's listings of villas in Bali:

I thought this one's really cool! Because the decor is really traditional, makes for a very authentic Indonesian experience.

This one's really contemporay and swanky. Reminds me of the houses in Sentosa Cove.

Just imagine waking up and seeing the inviting blue waters of the pool right infront of you. Mmm.

Ahhh there're just too many gorgeous villas on TheLuxeNomad! I'm definitely aiming for a trip to Bali this year, and I'll hit Potato Head Beach Club for sure. My friends have been telling me so much about it, apparently the music is right up my alley haha. And there are so many cafes to check out, Ubud seems real lovely too! And I've not even gotten to talking about the food! I love Indonesian food, the spices and flavours have my tastebuds dancing. Thank goodness there's one really good Indonesian nasi padang stall near my work place, I buy lunch from them at least 3x a week heh. And of course, in Singapore, we're no stranger to the Indonesian BBQ chicken, squid, fish, etc. I heard it's really good (and cheap) in Bali, so I HAVE to try the authentic one!

I'm Bali Dreamin' that's for sure.
